Mission and Vision

Experiencing New Life

We dream of a church . . .

. . . where people are regularly moving into grace-filled relationships with God. Those who have never known God are meeting Him; those who have moved away from Him are reunited.

. . . where people worship God in a vibrant way. Worship for them is not a Sunday only event, but a personal lifestyle. God has become the “gravitational center” of their lives and all of life is related back to Him.

. . . where the Bible is taught faithfully, clearly, and practically; where the congregation is constantly deepening its’ biblical literacy, and its’ people are regularly renewed and nourished by the truth of Scripture.

. . . that is a greenhouse of spiritual transformation. A church characterized by multiple environments of “grace and truth” where people feel safe to explore their faith and encounter a Biblical message that is faithful, winsome and relevant. Worship regularly involves “My Story” segments illustrating a spiritual transformation happening inside and outside church structured activities.

Establishing New Community

We dream of a church . . .

. . . with a network of 100 + groups providing support, encouragement, and accountability to those who seek to grow in Christlikeness. These groups will be led by trained lay leaders who lovingly lead, feed, and care for those in their group. This network of entry-points into the church consists of various types of groups including: men’s and women’s groups, mixed groups, recovery groups, recreational groups, serving teams, discipleship groups, and classes. Some are specifically targeted to support seekers and new Christians. All encourage transformation through support, authenticity, and Biblical application.

. . . where people love one another. People are loving their families, people are loving fellow Christ-followers, people are loving their neighbors and people are loving those who are not yet connected to God.

. . . that models Biblical community. A church that relates to one another guided by Biblical principles; a church that is diligent to resolve conflict and maintain the unity of the Spirit; a church that is using the gifts of its people to serve one another and bring blessing to the world.

. . . with 1,000 covenant members who have committed themselves to following the NCC Discipleship Pathway.

Expanding New Creation

We dream of a church . . .

. . . which prioritizes ministry to children and students. A church that is leveraging the most formative years of an individuals life to develop young people who are grounded in a biblical faith and prepared to be people of influence and impact as they go out into the world.

. . . where people are transformed and then spread transformation throughout the world into every area of their sphere of influence. Their lives reflect their faith 24x7 – in their families, in their neighborhoods, and in their workplaces.

. . . where people increasingly live like Jesus. They engage the culture in ways that mirror the priorities of Jesus. They show grace and love like Jesus. They understand their mission is to spread Shalom in all that they do.

. . . that is reproducing new churches – New Community Church planting new communities around the world through either true plants, house churches, or multi-site ministries.

. . . that is partnering and blessing para-church ministries, as well as networking with other churches throughout our city. A church that is using its leadership capital to catalyze God’s purpose beyond our own walls. A church that is actively involved not only in international missions, but also local and regional missions.

. . . where 100% of the covenant members and 50% of the weekly attendees are participating in missional activities (outside the walls of the church) on a regular basis.

We dream of a church . . . that brings a smile to the face of God.
