What is Mission: Impact?

Mission: Impact is New Community Church’s building and mission expansion project. It is a church-wide step of faith as we seek to make more room for worship, discipleship, community, and mission, both here in Wexford and beyond.

Since New Community began in 1998, our mission has remained the same: to make disciples who live and love like Jesus, who know Him, grow up in Him, and go out for Him. Over the years, God has used this church to grow disciples, strengthen families, care for the hurting, connect people to Christ and community, and support mission partners locally and around the world. We are grateful for all He has done, and we believe He is not done. Mission: Impact is our next step in that same mission. This project is not about becoming a different church. It is about being the same church, with the same values, and an expanded footprint that better supports the ministry God has already entrusted to us.

The building expansion will help align our facility with our values by creating a new worship center for engaging in worship and God’s Word, a central lobby built for community, on-site offices that help create a living building throughout the week, dedicated space for student ministry and small groups, and a prayer chapel for conversation with God. As part of Mission: Impact, we are seeking to expand here so we can send there. We are committed to giving 10% of every dollar raised directly to missions. While we expand our facilities here, we are not pulling back from the mission God has called us to beyond our walls. We believe this season should increase our generosity, not decrease it, as we continue supporting mission partners and projects locally and around the world.

Mission: Impact has always been about more than a construction project. It is a discipleship opportunity for our whole church. As we move forward together, we are continuing to ask God to grow our faith, deepen our dependence on Him, and teach us to follow Him with prayerful generosity, obedience, sacrifice, and joy. Our goal has never been equal giving, but 100% engagement.

Every person who calls New Community home has a next step to take, whether through prayer, worship, serving, financial generosity, or helping our church remain focused on the mission behind the project. As we continue this journey together, we are grateful for all God has already done and excited for what is still ahead. Through Mission: Impact, we are making room for more people to know and follow Jesus and expanding the impact of the gospel in our church, our neighborhoods, and the world.

Where Your Giving Is Making An Impact

Mission: Impact is about more than a building. From the beginning, we committed to setting aside 10% of Mission: Impact giving to support ministry beyond our campus. These funds have helped bless our Mission Partners serving locally and globally, as well as our ACTS Fund, which provides short-term care for individuals and families within NCC and those closely connected to our church. About Mission: Impact

After more than 20 years in our current building, our facility no longer fully supports our values of community, family, and discipleship. We are expanding to create more room for people, ministry, and community. The project includes improved spaces for children and students, groups, gatherings, care, and opportunities to help people find and follow Jesus.

Mission: Impact is not simply about making the building larger. It is about creating spaces that allow us to welcome people well, invest in the next generation, strengthen families, build relationships, and serve our community for years to come. We believe expanding our facility will better equip our congregation to live and love like Jesus and go out for Him.

Since 2022, our pastors, elders, and staff have been prayerfully seeking God's direction for the future of our campus. Throughout Mission: Impact, we have remained committed to wise stewardship, thoughtful planning, and creating spaces that reflect our values and equip our church family to impact our community and the world for Jesus.

New Community Church exists to make disciples who live and love like Jesus, who know Him, grow up in Him, and go out for Him. We are a missional church dedicated to making disciples who make a difference in God's kingdom.

We believe God has positioned us for greater impact through faithful prayer, discernment, and stewardship by our pastors, staff, elders, and congregation. Our goal is to "build here" by expanding our church facility and property so we can "send there" by supporting our mission partners and other ministry projects locally and around the world. Mission: Impact reflects both parts of this vision.

Vision and Campus Plans

Our long-term vision is to make better use of the property God has entrusted to us by creating spaces that support worship, discipleship, and community. The expansion includes a new first-floor worship center, a central lobby, a prayer chapel, on-site offices, dedicated space for student ministry, and large and small gathering spaces.

We also envision future outdoor enhancements that take advantage of our property's park-like setting, providing additional opportunities for recreation, connection, and community.

All new and renovated spaces will be designed and furnished in a way that is attractive, cost-effective, and as energy-efficient as possible. Our goal is to create a welcoming and functional facility without being excessive.

New Community Church is growing, but our vision is not to become bigger simply for the sake of size. Our desire is to make room for the people God continues to bring and provide spaces that support meaningful relationships, discipleship, care, and service.

Even as our facilities grow, we remain committed to helping people be known, connected, and involved through groups, ministries, serving opportunities, and personal relationships.

Timeline and Construction

After a season of prayer, planning, and fundraising throughout 2025, we officially broke ground in July 2026! Construction is now underway and will continue in phases while we use our building and property for Sunday services and ministry throughout the week.

We currently anticipate the project being completed in 2028, though construction timelines may shift as work progresses. Throughout the process, we will work to minimize disruptions to church activities.

Construction has required some changes to parking and traffic flow around the building. Our plans include reconfiguring portions of the lot and making use of additional parking near Route 910 to maintain adequate parking for our church family and guests.

The proposed changes will restore the parking spaces lost to the facility expansion. In addition, we have acquired two golf carts to help with the longer walk in the meantime.

Our building and stewardship teams have established a budget for the project that is monitored weekly. This budget includes contingency funds for unanticipated costs or other project expenses. Based on current projections, we anticipate completing the project within budget.

As ministry grows, staffing needs will continue to be evaluated prayerfully and responsibly based on where additional support is needed most. Any future staffing decisions will be made with the same commitment to wise stewardship that guides the rest of Mission: Impact.

Giving and Commitments

Mission: Impact is being funded through New Community Church's existing savings, the extraordinary generosity of our church family, and a carefully planned loan package.

As construction moves forward, we will continue receiving commitments and gifts toward the remaining amount. We have also secured financing to provide flexibility throughout the construction process and help us move forward responsibly.

Our goal remains to minimize debt as much as possible, with the prayerful hope of completing the project debt-free, so that our resources can stay focused on discipleship, ministry, outreach, and mission. We believe carefully planned borrowing can be a responsible stewardship tool when used wisely and with appropriate oversight and accountability.

We will continue to keep our church family updated as giving, construction, and financing progress.

Our prayerful goal is to complete the expansion with as little debt as possible and, if possible, debt-free. Doing so would allow more future resources to be invested directly in discipleship, ministry, outreach, and mission rather than long-term debt payments.

Mission: Impact gifts are separate from NCC's regular freewill giving. Regular gifts support the ongoing ministry and operations of the church, while Mission: Impact gifts are designated specifically for the building and mission expansion. We encourage Mission: Impact giving to be above and beyond regular giving whenever possible.

It's not too late to be part of Mission: Impact! Whether you're new to NCC or simply weren't in a place to participate when the campaign began, we invite you to pray about what God may be asking of you in this season. Commitments can be made at any point through the end of Mission: Impact in December 2027.

Whether you're making a new commitment or need to adjust an existing one, you can do so through a Mission: Impact commitment card. We understand that circumstances can change, and you're welcome to increase, decrease, or otherwise adjust your commitment as God leads.

Please note that submitting or updating a commitment card does not automatically establish or change a recurring gift. If you need to set up or adjust recurring giving, you can do so through your secure Pushpay account. For your security, NCC staff cannot modify your recurring giving information.

Initial Mission: Impact commitments began in October 2025 and extend through December 2027. As we enter year two, those who have already committed are invited to prayerfully confirm or adjust their commitments, while those who are new to Mission: Impact can make a commitment for October 2026 through December 2027.

There are several ways to give to Mission: Impact, including cash, check, online giving, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from eligible IRAs. We encourage you to prayerfully consider the giving method that works best for you.

To give online, simply click the "Give to Mission: Impact" button on this page and select "Building Fund" from the fund dropdown menu. One-time and recurring gifts can be made securely through Pushpay.
You can also give by personal check, payable to "New Community Church," with "Mission: Impact" designated on the memo line. While online giving remains a convenient option, giving by check avoids online processing fees, allowing the full amount of your gift to go directly toward Mission: Impact.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70½ or older to give directly from an eligible IRA to a qualified 501(c)(3) organization like NCC without counting the distribution as taxable income.

Yes! You will receive a year-end giving statement for tax purposes. To ensure your gifts are properly recorded, please identify yourself as the giver when making a contribution.

Mission: Impact has always been about more than a financial commitment. Our desire is for everyone to engage through prayer, discipleship, service, generosity, and listening for God's leading. If giving financially isn't possible in this season, there is still a meaningful place for you in Mission: Impact.
